Woody remains an Angel!

Tommy Wood signs on for 2023/24
Tommy Wood has re-signed for Tonbridge Angels for next season. Tommy returned to Longmead in February after spending the first six months of the season at Hampton & Richmond Borough. Woody made 13 appearances with seven of those coming from the bench.
The 24 year-old striker first came to the club in February 2020 on loan from AFC Wimbledon and made an immediate impact on his debut at Oxford City scoring twice in a 3-0 win.
On his release from the south London club, Tommy signed permanently for the Angels in October 2020 and spent two successful seasons at Tonbridge, making 57 appearances, scoring 19 goals, before choosing to start last season at Hampton mainly due to logistical reasons.
Tommy commented, after putting his signature on the dotted line: “I’m buzzing to be staying at Tonbridge Angels for another year. I’ve loved my time here ever since first joining on loan back in 2020 and it is great to see how far the club has come in such a short space of time. I’m looking forward to getting started again and pushing for another successful season.”
Manager Jay Saunders said last night: “I’m delighted to re-sign Woody for next season. I’m confident that with a good pre-season under his belt, supporters will see the best of Tommy, that of his first spell at the club when he was scoring at a rate not far away from a goal every other game.”
Tonbridge Angels are pleased that Tommy has chosen to remain an Angel for 2023/24.
