A centre in Tonbridge where young adults with learning disabilities can learn skills to give them opportunities in life was granted planning permission by Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council in March 2020.

Based in the south east corner of Tonbridge Angels FC’s Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium, the Upz and Downz 3300 sq. ft building will include a workshop, kitchen, cafe open to the public, and Angels Club Shop.

Bernard Chick of Upz and Downz said: “The obtaining of planning permission was a huge step forward and I would like to thank everyone who helped us get to that stage.”

Dave Netherstreet, Chairman of Tonbridge Angels added: “The new building greatly enhances a previously rather run-down area of our stadium and also gives us the addition of a new club shop and large office. Congratulations to Bernard and Upz and Downz.”

As of November 2021,  construction was fast nearing completion. 

Spring of 2022 saw large parts of the facility open for business including a new Angels club shop and office.
